在美國參觀 Harlan Estate 時想不到他們會用上 Champagne Krug Grand Cuvée NV 作 Welcome Drink,算是有點驚喜。
When visiting Harlan Estate in the US, I was a bit surprised that they would use the Champagne Krug Grand Cuvée NV as a welcome drink.

聞香的一剎那察覺到烤烘氣息特別濃之餘,當中更散發出一絲蜜糖香,仔細一看酒標,原來是早兩年的出品 - 168 Edition,難怪聞香多帶點成熟香氣。
Apart from the rich toasty aroma, the champagne had a hint of honey nose which showed a little bit of ageing. It turned out to be 168 Edition, which was released two years ago.
把 Krug Grand Cuvée NV 的第一個年份 - 1844 加上 Edition 的號碼 168,所得出的 2012 就代表這瓶香檳以 2012 年收成的葡萄作為主要基酒,再混合其他年份基酒而成。
Adding the first vintage of Krug Grand Cuvée NV (1844) to the edition number (168), the result (2012) means that this bottle of champagne is made from grapes harvested in 2012 as the main base wine, and then mixed with other vintages' base wine.

If you don’t want to count, want to know how many years have been blended this year, and which year is the oldest base wine etc..all information can be downloaded directly from Krug’s website.
以這瓶 168 Edition 為例,官網就顯示用了自 1996 年起 11 個不同年份的葡萄酒混釀而成。
This 168 edition is a blend of wine from 11 different years from 1996 to 2012.
除了成熟的香氣,泡沫亦非常細緻,使入口的質感優雅非常。成熟的白桃、杏脯、蜜糖、堅果和礦物味道,加上清爽的酸度,整體表現富有複雜性之餘亦非常令人討好~
Apart from the mature aromas, the delicate bubbles made the mouth-feeling smooth and elegant. The wine showed ripe white peach, apricot, honey, nuts and mineral flavours with fresh acidity. It was complex and pleasant.

對著 Harlan Estate 的葡萄園喝著 Krug NV,聽著 Harlan Estate 的故事,這個 Opening 太好了吧?
