上星期因為公司活動的關係，去了主動了解 Rémy Martin 的背景歷史和酒品分別，可算是寓工作於娛樂與學習吧？😗😗
說實話，白蘭地給人的感覺總是「上一代」的事物，如小女子般有偶爾喝 Brandy 襯 Cigar 的九十後，第一次看見的朋友總有點意外。其實，小女子也喜歡 Brandy 的 (這算是因為 Cigar 的緣故)，但若要解釋不同品牌的分別⋯⋯小女子做不到，只知道四大 Cognac 品牌是 Hennessy、Rémy Martin、Martell 和 Courvoisier ，僅此而已。 若沒有做資料搜集，小女子不會知道原來 Martell 是四個品牌中歷史最悠久的，而 Rémy Martin 是他們當中唯一由當地人創立，也是當年唯一自己種植葡萄的酒廠⋯⋯更不知如今 Rémy Martin 的 Cellar Master 只有34歲！(超年輕 😍😍) Rémy Martin 的另一個特別之處，就是他們的葡萄均來自最好的兩個地區－Grande Champagne 和 Petite Champagne。這次嚐的 Rémy Martin XO，混合了最多 400款不同的生命之水 (eaux-de-vie)，不但帶有成熟果香、些微杏脯和濃濃花香，入口還有熟橙、淡淡榛子、肉桂的味道。口感很濃郁，味道在細嚐下十分豐富！ 這令小女子不禁聯想起上年參加 Hennessy Dinner 配中菜的微妙感覺 (https://goo.gl/K4Bx5d) ～ 其實 Brandy / Cognac 除了襯 Cigar 和巧克力，對中菜來說也是一個好 Partner ，是另一個值得探索的世界 ❣️❣️
Attended company event last week and it was a good chance to know more about Rémy Martin!
Brandy is always a symbol of old school or ‘last generation’. Some of my friends are surprised when they know I, as a 90s, pair cigar with brandy. Brandy is one of my favourite actually (maybe because of cigar), however, I don't know much about the difference among the brands! Only know there are four big brands in Cognac, i.e.: Hennessy、Rémy Martin、Martell and Courvoisier, that's it.
Before searching information, I didn't know Martell is the one with the longest history among them..and Rémy Martin is the only one founded by local..and even I did not know the Cellar Master of Rémy Martin aged 34! (So young!)
At Rémy Martin, the eaux de vie come exclusively from Grande Champagne and Petite Champagne which are the top two regions in Cognac. The one I tried this time was Rémy Martin XO. It is blended from up to 400 eaux de vie. It not only bring ripen fruit, hints of apricot and lots of floral on the nose, but also have ripen orange, hints of hazelnuts and cinnamon on the palate. The texture is rich and very complex with long lingering.
