2007 Chateau Calon Segur


近日最熱的電影,莫過於《Beauty and the Beast》了~說來不怕你笑話……其實小女子是第一次看這個故事的,先前只知道故事有一位美女與變成野獸的王子共舞,無知到連故事中的玫瑰花都不知道是甚麼一回事……所以對很多人來說,這是一個家傳戶曉的童話故事,而對小女子來說,就有第一次看童話的感動。

Belle不介意對方的外表,以內心感受、真心喜歡,由討厭到愛上……整個過程令小女子看得著迷,也無故想起Blind tasting也是同一個道理-don’t judge a person (wine) by his/her appearance (wine label)。

此外,故事中的Belle並沒有局限自己,害怕成為村中「獨特」的一個,反而不斷看書、遊歷去增廣見聞,對此小女子也表示贊同-我們應盡情發掘、研究自己感興趣的領域,避免人云亦云、隨波逐流。

廢話多了,其實這次想分享的是2007 Chateau Calon Segur。

對此莊,最為人熟悉的無不是當年 (18世紀) 莊主Nicolas-Alexandre所說的一句浪漫話語:「I make wine at Lafite and Latour but my heart is at Calon-Segur」(雖然我在Lafite和Latour釀酒,但我的心卻是在Calon-Segur),這句話足以表現出他對此酒莊的鍾愛程度。

開始的時候帶有濃濃的煙熏、泥土、黑巧克力、香辛、黑莓、黑櫻桃香氣和味道。入口酒體偏厚,酸度、單寧偏高,並不是十分討好的一枝酒,事關Earthy氣息都比較強,單寧亦不完全熟透 (年份的緣故吧),骨架較大卻顯得比較粗糙。

第一天喝了三杯左右,塞回木塞等第二天。

第二天的泥土氣息沒那麼強,但仍然可以清楚感受得到。黑莓、黑櫻桃、黑加倫子的果感比第一天強了一點,入口亦感受到一點果甜,夾雜一點香辛、煙熏、礦物、黑巧克力、鉛筆碎的味道,不俗。只是一樣,層次、複雜性雖有,但始終做得不夠細緻,且餘韻帶有一點青澀。還是較為喜歡第二天入口的果香,有苦中一點甜的感覺。

整體而言,小女子認為這瓶酒已是處於高𡶶位置,可以多放幾年再喝,但酒質不會有太大改善。

There were lots of smoky, earthy as well as dark chocolate, oak spice, black currants, black cherry on the nose and palate. Medium plus body, medium plus level of tannin and acidity. This was not the one I like that much as it's too earthy for me and the tannin was not fully ripen (it should be one of the vintage's characters?) The structure was strong but the flavours were not well integrated.

I tried three glasses on day 1 and rest of it was for another day.

For day 2, the sense of earthiness was soften but still could be easily detected. The notes of black fruits such as black berry, black currant and black cherry were stronger than the previous day. There was some sweetness from the fruits on the palate with oak spice, smoky, mineral, dark chocolate and hints of pencil shaving - quite good. However, the wine was not delicate enough and sometimes I thought this was a bit rude.

In conclude, I thought this bottle was at peak. Few more years aging is okay but it does not improve the wine so much.
